The gambler has a desire to "fall into" a great life without having to work for it. This is a slippery slope however, because if it wasn't for the chance to "hit it big" who would gamble at all? What seperates a person that gambles for fun or one that has an addiction would be his/her ability to grasp reality; clearly understanding the realistic possiblities at becoming rich by means of random games.
